Art Alive - Art Animation

The Island - Art Alive

Task Description: Team 5 have been doing art for term 4, this is my art inspired by Edvard Munch, this describes my emotions and feelings and it is representing how I am feeling free and sanguine. Sanguine means positive. It was very fun making this because I got to mix the colours and I had lots of company to occupy me while I was drawing my art.

Kate Sheppard

 Kate Sheppard

Kate sheppard is a woman who wanted rights to vote because only men could vote and she felt that it was not fair, all the women who felt it wasn’t fair all gathered up and made a protest about how the women wanted to vote too. She was born on march 10 in 1847 and apparently she passed on 13th of july in 1934. She was born in Liverpool, United Kingdom

Why is Kate Sheppard famous?

Kate Sheppard was famous indeed according to her and many other womens protesting because women were not allowed to vote back then and the females didn’t like the idea of only men allowed to vote in a election

When did females have rights to vote?

Kate Sheppard protested a lot of times but she didn’t get the rights to vote until 1893 where I think the men thought that the women would never give up.

Conclusion

So technically she was a wonderful lady who had a wonderful mind full of wonderful things, she really saved new zealand

Tokelau

Tokelau is famous for being the smallest economy in the world, now referred to as by the New Zealand government and the tokelau government.

If you didn't know Nukunonu is the capital of Tokelau

Did you know that samoa is 505 km away from tokelau which means samoa from tokelau is 314 miles away

If you were wondering if people from tokelau are citizens in New Zealand well yes they are which is an honour for us new zealanders to meet and welcome them.

When did tokelau gain independence?

1948

The most spoken language in tokelau is tokelauan and english.

If you want to learn something new in tokelau then continue reading

Tokelau is hardly known for its high points! In fact, the tallest peak in the atolls comes to a towering five metres! That might be a nice little adventure for newbie mountaineers, at the least!

Tokelau’s atolls are actually at risk of disappearing in the long run. That’s thanks to the relatively low ground level, and that the sea is rising thanks to global warming.

  • Tālofa - Hello (on the phone)

  • E ā mai koe? - How are you?

  • Ko ai tō igoa? - What's your name?

  • Ko ... toku igoa - My name is ____

  • Manuia te taeao - good morning

  • E lelei kua feiloaki kitāua, ni - Pleased to meet you

  • Afiafi - good evening

Thanks for taking your time to read this and I hope you learnt something new!

Task description: today I had to write facts about tokelau and it was really fun I even learnt alot about the tokelauan culture.

Te Reo

Tongan Myth

There is a fijian god named Takuaka he could sometimes change into a shark, he wanted to be the best god of the reefs because he was fearless, strong and very brave. Takuaka traveled the reefs to defeat the gods, as he did he came across a really strong one named feke, feke is an octopus and was really strong, he only had 4 tentacles. Feke and Takuaka fought and Feke won, Takuaka was scared and made a promise saying “If you let me go I promise I won't hurt anymore people now”

Camp #3

If you were to give ideas for the next year 7/8 camp what would you suggest?

I would suggest that they have to have a challenge about who would be the best team and challenge who would be the first to finish all the obstacles like of wipe out the show

What would you keep?

I would probably keep the food from shared lunch because it is so delicious and I'm pretty sure you would too, From Year 8's camp I would keep the dirtbike.

What would you stop?

I would stop nothing pretty much because everything would have been fun and amazing

What would you add?

I would add some hard obstacles because I love obstacles and challenges, but the obstacles would have a pool that you would fall in if you failed the challenge

Why do we have such events?

To help the students gain confident and help them leave their comfort zone because everyone needs to be themselves if they want friends you know, its better with friends because they help and watch out for you like your are family relative.

There is a lot of students that share their thoughts and feelings also just like Whare Tapa Wha

Taha Tinana is Physical health
Physical health means emotional, overall well-being, it is the most visible of the most various dimensions of health, you take care of yourself

Taha Whanau
someone that you care about very much and helped you, someone who makes you feel where you belong, like a Bestfriend or a family member/relative

Taha Hinengaro
The thoughts and expressions that you think and show, from our heart and our mind, like meaning that you think your own opinions or sometimes you just roll with what you see is happening

Taha Wairua
Their personal opinion like who do are they, they show a different person but inside is the normal person, lets say that what if I was a funny person but in class I would act like a sad person, that means i'm hiding my real self because i'm insecure

Captain Reflections

This morning we had a sharing session with the year 7 and 8's and the captains would step up and tell us there favorite part of their activity and why?

Year 7's Sharing's

  • Nina's group was very good at participating and were good listeners
  • they were very honest
  • all of them mostly had the same goals
  • they were making sure that everyone was having fun
  • watching their team step up and be leaders
Year 8's sharing

  • The boys slept together
  • Paschal told them that there was a myth about a ghost watching them
  • it was like a comedy going on
  • They also said that they were participating
  • They had a great time
There was a lot of things they've done and said so I couldn't keep track of it sorry for the bad explaining but it was so funny, my favorite part was when the year 8's was talking because it was like they were putting on a comedy for us because they were telling us all these jokes and stories that they were experiencing. My other favorite part is when Paschal told them about the scary myth.

Maths Whizz

Task Description: this is my progressions about what and how I want to achieve some more progressions

My Highlight

Last week the year 7's participated in activities while the year 8's went to leadership camp. I stayed home because I had to watch the baby's and play with them and it was very fun, we made a fun list with a ton of games they can play, the rules are that the games are 15 minutes each so that the others can pick too, there were 3 babies. Two boys and one girl, the boys were four years old and the girl was 7 years old and we had a lot of fun for those two days and then the girls me and my inlaw sisters went to paradise ice scating and it was very fun, I fell down three times and my other younger sister inlaw fell a lot of times and also made a lot of people fall. There was a group and they were super good at ice scating, me and my sisters all got better and better but I would always make these turns right before I got to the sides but with this snail looking car thingy. If I did come to school my highlight would have been the shared lunch because there is a ton of food and last year it was so cool because I had my favourite cookies and it was literally so soft and delicious.

My Progressions

This is how much progressions I got today and I was working on measuring, decimals, Plusses, Times Tables, and Divided by's. It was kind of hard to focus because I kept getting lost for some reason, but it was still kind of fun, I pretty much can count faster for divided by's.

Is It Ever Okay To Steal?

I think that it is okay to steal for the people that need it because they need to eat to survive and they might have a baby coming and need to provide for them also they might need to provide for others and themselves because some of the world would not let others have some of their food and that is really selfish.

What If?

BootCamp

Today I learnt about positivity and going through the struggle is real and that you just got to handle it by finding what makes you happy.

My Fight

Today for reading we learnt about how others might be feeling and how their family having trouble and how they are going through alot and try to hide it.

Military Time

This week we are learning about military time and it was so fun also it felt like a challenge, for example if the time said 12.23pm in military time it will be spelt as 2423 because it is afternoon and it is like the 24 hour clock but everything put together. We had to create a hexagon out of 24 triangles it was cool and kind of annoying but mostly fun.

Myths And Legends

The Myths and Legends is about all the things I've learned this week with every teacher and in the boxes is the Title of the tasks, the country and teacher who was teaching us I enjoyed making this poster.

Turkish Delight

Image result for turkish delight

Today after lunchtime Mrs Moala gave room 1 students a turkish delight lollie, the photo on top is what it looks like, I thought it was kind of nice but at the same time not really. Most of the students in room 1 said that they didn't like it because of the powder and the sugar, but to me I didn't even mind. It tasted like jelly and a nice powder on top. When I first got the turkish delight it looked so squishy and delicious and I was right.
